Hola Alberto. My name is Tanya Romero and I work with the Virginia Key Grassroots Festival. The 4th annual Virginia Key GrassRoots Festival will return on February 19th-22nd, 2015 at the Historic Virginia Key Beach Park. The four day event will feature: over 50 bands, live music on four stages, on-site camping, a sustainability fair & expo, kids’ area, world foods café, and zen village area with healing arts, yoga, movement workshops, massage, meditation, crafts, and more. I would love to know if you would be billing to promote us on your blog. We have a great video segment we actually just launched today on our facebook page (please chevk it out!). In exchange, I would love to gift you tickets so you may personally attend the festival and potentially if you are interested, we could allot you some tickets to do a give-away on your blog. Please let me know if any of this jives with you. I look forward to hearing from you! Muchas Gracias

Hi Tanya, I (aka Long Play Miami) will be attending on Thursday with a photographer courtesy of Kristina Rose from Grassroots. I plan to write something about the festival’s opening night. However, I would love to attend on Saturday with my lovely wife and 2 children (they are under 12). The give-away of tix on my blog is not something I’m willing to do at this time. But certainly plan to write and let music fans know more about it.

I really enjoyed the article you wrote on Della Humphrey, Albert. Thanks for going to such great lengths to get the full story. All your effort is appreciated (and very cool).

Hi Alberto! I was wondering if you know what happened to Saadia (the record label owned by the late Frank Williams)? I was hoping to talk to you in private about this.

  4. Rutger

Hey, thank u for ur great blog. Silly question, but do you know if Little Beaver exclusively used his thumb to play his guitar, or did he also use a guitar pick? I can’t find any information about this on the internet.

    • Alberto de la Portilla

Thank you for your question. I dont know the exact answer but I believe he never used a guitar pick. He used his finger tips, and then used the thumb to cover over the neck on the top chords. I am preparing a follow up story on him and I could ask him specifically.
